Mozingo Rock University: Spring II 2018 $279Purchase required to enroll

The Mozingo Rock University provides St. Louis Metro Area Students a rock band experience for learning and jamming together with their fellow students. It is a rock band program for vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and keyboardists between the ages of 9 and 17. Students will enjoy a supportive and motivating environment in which to learn, feel inspired to excel and to help their band to victory at their next gig.

MRU will be held at both store locations with several times to choose from. At the end of the 8-week session, student bands will perform an end of session concert at a local venue. Students will be asked to help promote the show to family, friends, and the general public. Various opportunities for performances before, after, and throughout the 8-week sessions will sometimes occur. Bands will be asked (at the director’s discretion) to perform. These will generally be community and PR performances that help promote the MRU program.

Kidzrock-Spring II 2018: Thursdays $145Purchase required to enroll

Kidzrock is an 8-week program where children learn the basics of instrumental playing in the setting of a real rock band. Students rotate on guitar, drums, and keyboards as they prepare for an end-of-session rock concert. Band members also sing and perform songs from the upcoming Kidzrock CD. Kidzrock performs songs written specifically for the program. Instruments provided by Mozingo Music.

The O'Fallon bands will rehearse in our ensemble classroom/performance area. This room is located in the far west section of our building. If you are looking at our building, it is where the the sign for 'the Stage' is located.

The final performance will take place during the last 15 minutes of the final class meeting. More details on the final performances will be passed along as we get further along in the session.

Are you an adult that plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or sings? Have you always wanted to play in a band? Or, do you want to re-live the glory days of when you were? Why should the kids have all of the fun?

Mozingo Rock University offers an Adult Band program for ages 18 and up! Practice in a band with other adults once per week for eight weeks and go play a gig at one of St. Louis’s great music venues!

Each MRU for Adults band will have a professional instructor/coach that will lead them in song selection and rehearsal. MRU for Adults will be held at both store locations (Ellisville and O’Fallon) with several times to choose from.

Mozingo Music Student Jazz Combos: Spring II 2018 $279Purchase required to enroll

For ages 14 and up

For students who play drums, bass, piano, guitar, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, vibraphone

Description: Mozingo Music Student Jazz Combos is a program intended to provide students with a jazz-oriented outlet where they can apply improvisation and other jazz performance skills in a small group context. MMSJC will be held at both store locations with several times to choose from. At the end of the 8-week session, student bands will perform an end of session concert at a local venue.

Further info: Enrolled students will be placed in performance combos according to skill level, age, and schedule restrictions. Each group will have a director assigned to it. Each director is from the Mozingo Music teaching staff and has extensive experience as a jazz performer and educator.

Kidrock Summer Camp is for kids ages 4 thru 7. Activities include band rehearsals where students play guitar, drums, and keyboard. They also spend time singing along with instructors. Student bands also do art projects to design band logos and perform an end of camp concert. No previous experience necessary.

Pop Vocal Summer Camp 2018 $199Purchase required to enroll

Do you love “Glee,” or “The Voice”? Now it’s your chance to be in a pop vocal group. You’ll learn how to perform with other singers, develop stage presence and light choreography, as you sing along to your favorite pop tunes. This camp is for vocal students between ages 12 – 18, with some basic vocal experience recommended (choir, lessons, worship teams, etc.). Practice materials are provided. The camp will culminate in a Friday afternoon performance for family and friends.

Songwriting Summer Camp 2018 $199Purchase required to enroll

This camp is designed for aspiring songwriters between the ages of 9 and 14. Students enrolled will work to create original songs through lyric writing, melody writing, and chord progression exercises. A performance that will be live streamed via the Mozingo Music Facebook page will conclude the camp. Basic guitar and/or keyboard skills are recommended. Students will need to supply their own lunches.
